Health Care Professionals
We all have situations in our life that we need help navigating to be able to cope and move forward. In health Care there are lots of pressures, lots of hoops to jump through and lots of systems to navigate and that’s why I provide a supportive, safe, very private space for you to work through stresses, symptoms and issues. When we feel blocked, overwhelmed or exhausted it can hold us back and make life seem aimless, harder than it should be, lacking and unfulfilling.
Do You feel over worked, time poor?
Do everyone’s needs come before yours? Are you so caught up in the never-ending list of things to do that you forget to check in and see how you are? Are you so busy looking after your patients, coordinating with your work colleagues, your team, management, upper management that you don’t know how you made it through the day at all? Are you running to the next and the next thing and not giving yourself time?
Are you feeling worn down, frustrated, angry or shut down? Do you feel helpless or hopeless because there seems like there is no way out for you? Are all of these emotions making you feel resentment for where life is taking you or do you feel despair, shame or sorrow. How much is this impacting your home life, your family life, social occasions and what you do to for relaxation and recreation?
Are you finding it hard to cope?
Do you feel anxious every day? Are you suffering with anxiety or stress over load? Feeling like this over and over can wear us down and dent and erode our self-esteem and self-confidence, this affects every single aspect of our lives. Your body and your mind go into overdrive working harder and harder, trying help us to deal with feelings of loss, pressure, overwhelm or discomfort in our lives. Our bodies job is to stay healthy and strong and alive because it was designed to self repair and stay alive. So it has to try and alert us when something is going wrong so it can be fixed, and the only way it can do that is to produce a symptom that we will notice. A symptom that we will slow down long enough to wonder why that is happening. When we don’t cope with an emotional issue an there is always a physical response. This symptom or an issue gives us a chance to have a time out to take us away from what we are struggling with. It gives us a chance to take sick leave or mental health days. It gives us a chance to rest and heal. Unfortunately we don’t look at why symptoms keep happening in the body, so we put a bandaide on it and forget all about it until the next time. We don’t stop long enough to see that it has everything to do with how we feel about ourselves and how we cope with stresses in our lives.
Are you getting sick a lot?
It could be a cold or the flu or a bout of gastro. How is your body trying to give you a break when you feel run down and overwhelmed? Is it anxiety, depression, rashes, allergies, gut issues, autoimmune diseases? Did you get so distracted that you had an injury or an accident? Is it so much stress and overwhelm over too many years that it has lead to excessive sleeping or not sleeping at all? Is it more than that even? Have years of discomfort lead to persistent body aches and pains and chronic illness? The more we try to ignore our issues the louder and louder the body has to be to get our attention. It will keep warning us that something on the inside is really affecting us and the more we try to suppress the emotions the bigger the symptom will become. It has to do it this way, our body has no other way to alert us, the emotions have to be expressed, it has no choice, our body is designed to survive. So it produces cortisol, inflammation, pain, anything and everything to let us know that something is wrong. Illness helps us to cope with why we feel so not in control of ourselves. It gives us something to blame for why we may be feeling so bad, so down, but we continue to overlook the real causes and stresses. How we deal or rather don’t deal with stresses are one of the leading causes of physical and mental health pain.

Our modern world never stops and we keep loading more and more things on top of us because we think we would be letting someone down or failing if we didn’t do all of those things. The only problem is we were designed to rest as well as work and play. The scales have tipped somewhere and we need to rebalance them. We need to move away from disease and move towards ease.
